Mason Fong, CEO
Mason Fong is the Founder and CEO of Silicon Valley Strategies, a Northern California government relations and strategic consulting firm that helps technology companies, developers, trade associations, nonprofits, and businesses navigate government. With more than 14 years of experience across the federal, state, and local levels of government—and in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors—Mason advises clients on government procurement, public affairs, legislative strategy, permitting and entitlements, regulatory engagement, and business development. Through strategic partnerships in Sacramento and Southern California, Silicon Valley Strategies provides clients with statewide representation.
Before founding Silicon Valley Strategies, Mason served as Government Affairs Strategist at Peregrine Technologies, where he developed government market strategies, supported public sector business development, and helped the company navigate complex procurement and stakeholder engagement processes.
Previously, Mason was appointed by Gavin Newsom as Northern California Deputy Regional Director of External Affairs, overseeing the Governor's external engagement across more than 30 counties spanning the Bay Area to the Oregon border. Earlier in his career, he held public policy and government affairs positions for two Members of Congress, a San Jose Vice Mayor, a San Jose City Councilmember, and two Chambers of Commerce.
In 2018, Mason was elected as the youngest member of the Sunnyvale City Council and became only the third Asian American elected to the council in the city's history.
A lifelong advocate for public service, Mason comes from a family with a longstanding tradition of civic leadership and government service spanning local, state, and federal government.
Mason earned a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego after transferring from De Anza College.
